Everything is so finite
I’m so expandable
Life isn’t infinite
It’s not even sustainable.
Sometimes the void swallows you whole
Sometimes it eats at you
Chips at you piece by piece
Until your insecurities ring true.
And in this emptiness I realise
I only have my own self
What a pitiful thought.
When one comes from a broken home
The foundation is always shaky
They go to a dug up tomb
Once their bones begin to feel quaky.
Exhaustion creeps at my bones too
Late in the night
Tightening my muscles
Until I catch a fright.
Do you ask yourself what the point is?
Why are we on this earth?
Or do you get swallowed up by the endless list
Of caricatured worth.
We’re like mice in a cage
For someone else’s enjoyment
A comedian on a stage
Except someone else inflicts our torment.
