Since the whole existence of rabies is scary, we should offer pre-exposure rabies vaccines to people the same way we do with the flu vaccine

From what I’ve heard about rabies, it’s fucking terrifying, once a single symptom is noticed, it’s already too late. Apparently only ONE person has ever survived after having symptoms.

Rabies is a disease that is caused by other rabid animals spreading it VIA biting until the disease gets caught into an open wound. Rabies eats away brain matter and it makes people unable to drink water, they just automatically spit it out. Even if they get hospitalized and are given an IV to force water into their body, rabies is still most likely to kill them because it eats away the brain.

Given how terrifying this seems, why shouldn’t we give pre-exposure vaccines to everyone the same way we do with flu shots?
