Basically a non-deadly version of the Long Walk. Athletes will walk continuously, maintaining at least a 3 mph pace until they can’t walk anymore. If you slip below 3 mph, you get a warning. After 3 warnings, you’re eliminated. There is no stopping for any reason. No rest, no sleep, no bathroom breaks. Eating and drinking must be done while moving. Each day, the warnings reset.
There will be a 300-mile stretch of road blocked off sequentially for the competition, with vehicles and staff escorting the athletes along the way, and waystations with supplies at regular intervals. An unlimited supply of food and drink will be provided for the athletes to just take at will. A medical team will also accompany them for the inevitable cases of rabdo that will occur from particularly competitive individuals.
The competition is open to anyone willing to pay a fee, but they must fill out a waiver and submitted a doctor’s note showing they are in good enough health to compete. Of course, this competition will be done during the late spring in an area with mild climate to ensure the weather won’t be an issue. But if it does rain, the show must go on.
The last one still walking wins.
