Cheap Ebikes are getting big, especially urban areas, and I was thinking about all the mods and aftermarket potential. One idea was small cargo trailers. I know they exist for bikes but theyre usually pretty barebones or meant for pulling pets around, or very expensive.
It would be made for ebikes specifically, and take advantage of the pulling power to be more durable and sophisticated than normal bike trailers. They could even have power banks inside to charge the bike.
Think like a little trailer pod, durable, enclosed, secure. Like a miniature Airstream (but not that complex). You could unlock it with your phone. It could have turn signals and lighting. You could potentially have more than one and have a little bike train.
There could be variants, insulated ones for food delivery, open ones for bigger cargo, camping ones with amenities that leverage the power banks (cooking, lighting, power plugs). Rickshaw ones so you can pull a passenger. Different sizes. Ideally would have a few price tiers.
There could be all sorts of add ons and complimentary products. A sidecar version, a full pop up lightweight enclosure that covers you and the bike, and Full popup light enclosures that cover it and the bike to make it like a little car / tuk tuk.
What do ya think? Potential problems? Opportunities?
