Why is it Nuclear?: because it’s a permanent disqualification of Trump, that shakes both GOP and Dems alike.
Why is it safe?: because Biden can declare it within his official capacity, and because he abdicates of his own race eliminating the political argument of persecuting an opponent as he stops having any self interest in the outcome of the upcoming presidential race.
Extra benefits: Biden and Dems don’t lose face with this action; GOPs don’t lose face, which avoids them from trying to save Trump or keep pursuing his candidacy; both parties start with a clean slate, making it much harder for cheap political points.
