Basically doing laundry requires people to stay in the building while their laundry is getting clean, so why not do something else that requires staying in the building?
The movies would be second-run or things that are hard to see without the right streaming service.
I’m thinking that the laundry machines would have a pager for alerting people that their clothes need attention. Or there would be a “commercial break” in the middle to encourage people to get up and get their stuff into dryers.
