Ive been a Realtor for a few years now and have accompanied multiple RE auctions. The demand in my area seams to be high but there are not many “great” local RE auction companies around. They take mediocre pictures, not enough advertising, and it just seams like it is done “cheaply” for the home owners behalf. Ive been to a few auctions that in a normal market the home would be worth a million+ and I was expecting it to be done a little more luxurious. Maybe my idea is not the best for this industry but I feel like I could build a pretty solid business. Where i am stumped is that i’ve done hours of research and Im still left confused. Do I need to go to school to be an auctioneer or can I hire out independent contractors to conduct the actual auction. Also, what kind of licensing do i need? I know id need my brokers license and possibly an “AB” or an auction business license but what else would I need other than those and an LLC to start this?
