Where to go from here

Hello, Before reading I want to thank you all for being apart of this community! Lot of negative stuff on the internet so it’s a nice change to see people wanting to give advice for those starting on there entrepreneur journey.

One huge mental block for me is idea theft, which prohibits me from getting an outside opinion as I’m nervous that if my idea works, someone who has more capital and resources is going to beat me to the punch.

That being said, I’ve come to realize that I won’t get anywhere if I continue to think in these patterns. So hopefully I can get some much needed advice.

Currently I’m working on creating a prototype for an aesthetic floor cover that will be applied directly onto all weather car mats, providing the customer the ability to customize their car interior while not sacrificing on the functionality of their mats. Based on my research, no company that I can find creates the product that I envision allowing for less of a completive market. However, I’m stuck in a mental block rn as I can’t seem to decide on what materials I would want to use.

Currently, I’m looking at using a thin sheet of tpu plastic that will adhere to the mat itself. The following list is what the cover needs to accomplish

The ability to print designs on that a customer makes High quality colors Protect against UV rays Anti slip feature Protective coating Can discharge static Not prohibit the customers ability to drive Easy to install Not squeak when customer is stepping on the mat Shape is easy to form based on mat grooves

For installation, My current idea is to create a chemical reaction that can bind the mat and cover together, with the added assistance of a vacuum seal bag to prevent bubbling and wrinkles.

My current goal for the project is to create a working prototype to show friends/family to get their opinions.

What do you guys think? Is there anything I should be looking into more? Feel free to either pm me for more info or reply to the post.

Thanks!
