​Supplement business

I’ve been in the nutrition industry for a while as it was my last job.I was thinking to open my own store/online store and sell supplements. Issue with the supplements business is if we sell we can thrive. If I don’t I’ll be making 3* loss since the margin is low. For eg if I get a product for 40dollars I sell it for 55 if I don’t it will be a loss or promotion for 40dollars still loss due to shipping and other costs.

Another issue I wanna tackle is there is monoply of distributors where I get not much margin and I am forced to buy from them and when they put sale on products I’ll be at loss so, I have no place to buy directly stocks for 5-10k while distributors get their products for wholesale around 50K minimum and they resell it to us. For eg product price to customers- $80 I get from distributors at- 65 $and they put on it for sale at 70$ basically that $5 will go to shipping and if I don’t get rid of stock I’m at huge loss.

If anyone here is from supplement industry or can give me advice how to tackle this is helpful.

I’ve been unemployed for almost 2.5 years, and this plan I’m getting some loan and help from friends and is my last hope. I have put in some work and build a website from scratch took 12hours plus a day for weeks since I had to learn from YouTube
