I’m a US-based, foreign educated nurse. There’s many agencies who recruit nurses from overseas (primarily developing countries) into the US. I registered an LLC to help do the reverse: send people interested in studying nursing to study abroad for as low as $1500 to $2000 per year for a bachelor’s degree. The degrees are recognized in the US and you get US licensure and the same privileges as any US-educated nurse (I’m one of the graduates from those programs).
Some universities I have links with offer guaranteed admission, as they’re looking for international students. People could essentially get straight entry into a BSN and obtain it for less than $10,000, graduate debt-free while also experiencing a new and interesting culture.
I’ve lacked ideas on how to find people for this initiative. I’ve felt discouraged considering that some less traveled people in the US think all developing countries are basically “ghetto” or unsafe etc (such a huge misconception, as there are many developing countries that have acceptable infrastructure and are safer than the US). The ultimate goal would be to send out 50-100 students a year and charge $500 to $1000 service fee (we could also organize airport pickups etc when they arrive).
I’ve thought of partnering with hospitals to make them pay for interested people (and have them sign contracts to work for them later), but I’ve not been sure given corporate bureaucracies. I’ve also considered recruiting interested people individually, though this would be slower.
Would appreciate suggestions on how I can get this to take off and scale it up. I’d also be very interested in partnering with anyone who may be interested in this business idea (either by finding clients or otherwise). I think it’d be a win-win for everyone involved. I had some initial legal documents drafted up. Anyone who wants can send me a private message too.
