Building a screen time control app and looking for feedback on what people really want

Hey everyone I am working on an Android app that helps reduce social media and gaming distractions. The goal is to help people, especially kids and teenagers, manage their screen time in a smarter and more mindful way.

Right now the app simply shows a reminder pop up when someone crosses their daily usage limit. I want to expand it to include more features that make the experience helpful instead of annoying.

Here is what I have in mind so far • The app can work offline but also sync with a backend when connected to the internet for analytics and reports • Parents or users can set their own daily limits for specific apps or app categories like video or games • There will be focus challenges or reward points to keep people motivated to use the app • A dashboard will show daily screen time, most used apps, and overall progress

Before going further I want to understand what people really want from such apps. If you have used apps like Digital Wellbeing, Freedom, or Stay Focused, what did you feel was missing? What would make an app like this genuinely helpful and worth using?

I am not here to promote anything or look for partners. I just want honest feedback from people who care about digital wellness and productivity.

Thanks a lot for reading and sharing your thoughts.
