I am an electrical engineer with over 10 years of experience building electronic products. I have a product idea that I want some feedback for.
Being a parent of two kids, I hate to have my phone in my pocket when I am home. It distracts me from spending quality time with my families. However, I don’t want to miss any important calls while I don’t have the phone with me. My phone is always set to silence mode.
In the good old days, there are landline phones. So this was not a problem at all. Nowadays, I can’t even find a landline port anywhere in my house, and even if there are, few people would be interested in spending a monthly fee on a landline service.
So I think there should be a device that looks exactly like a traditional landline phone, but it is paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth. You use it the same way as you would a traditional phone. When there is an incoming call, the phone rings, and you can pick up the headset to answer the call. You can also pickup the headset and use the keypad to make phone calls. It may have a voice assistant button to use your voice to call a contact. Target customers could be people that have similar needs as myself, or seniors who are more comfortable with traditional phones but still want to take advantage of the smartphone’s convenience.
The product should be easy to implement. Any feedback is welcome. If you know any existing products that look like this, I would also like to know.
