You aren’t given any context, but you literally watch a show where a person does their daily routine, but you get a real taste of the life of the person without snipping any of the mundane stuff in a person’s life. So you go back to an Ancient Roman Soldier, sure they march along Via Appia, but they also talk about how their commander is an asshole with their buds, how they saw a row of toilets blow up once, or that crazy weekend partying at Pompei. They wake up, do some mundane chores, talk a little, and go to sleep. The episode doesn’t show a revolution occurring, or the course of years, just a bit like a 24 hour documentary of life, a little like the Truman Show for our own humanity.
