​Designs (that appear to be made of cement) on large swaths of land, seen flying out of Pensacola, Florida.

I noticed them when I flew from Pensacola a few weeks ago. I don’t recall how long after takeoff it was when I noticed them, but I’m fairly certain it was within the first 15-20 minutes of flight.

My first thought: trying to “pretty up” a landfill with aesthetically pleasing designs.

But seriously: what are these things?
