Hello! My spouse works for an independently run dog daycare, and loves it. They offer daycare, boarding, and grooming. I have the opportunity to meet the boss/owner and want to pitch the idea of me coming on in an outward-facing role. Sales, relationship management, strategy, and of course some time at the spot working with the staff and dogs.
Currently, outside engagement comes from social media and the owner donating to local pet charities/events. The owner is generally speaking an absentee owner.
My question is what are some strategies I should employ to help market myself and make this sound like a good idea, as they don’t have anyone in a role like this. My thoughts are to:
1) Be a face in the community that can direct potential newcomers by working with the local Humane Society, or other dog-centric places/events/general networking.
2) Understand what other dog daycares do/don’t do to make us stand out better.
3) Engage with customers outside the facility.
4) Having input when it comes to retail decisions, new/existing services, and others.
Thank you.
