I’m the owner of a vehicle wrap company based in California. We specialize in a variety of services, with a particular focus on commercial vehicle wraps for fleet vehicles and businesses. These are a priority because they’re a need rather than a want, offering consistent and reliable demand. However, we also offer a wide range of other vehicle wrap services, including full-color change wraps, custom designs, paint protection film, vinyl wrapping, window tinting, ceramic coating, and even architectural wraps for walls, floors, and windows.
Currently, we generate about $40,000 to $45,000 in monthly revenue with profit margins averaging around 20%. We operate out of a beautiful 2,700 sq. ft. flex space with a 300 sq. ft. office and a pristine warehouse setup that’s perfect for vehicle wrapping.
Here’s the situation: It’s me, the owner, running the business semi-remotely, with a full-time shop manager and one full-time wrapper. Our shop manager handles everything from production to sales and customer service, while our wrapper focuses on the physical wrapping work. Both are incentivized with hourly wages plus commissions.
We’re a five-star business on Google and Yelp, and we spend about $3,000 to $4,000 a month on marketing through Google Ads and Yelp. Despite our steady growth, I know there’s potential to scale much faster, and I believe bringing the right person on board could make all the difference.
My question to the community is: What should my next steps be to accelerate growth and scale this business to its full potential, especially with a focus on commercial wraps? Should I be looking to bring someone on board who could take the reins and drive the company forward, possibly with an equity stake? If so, how do I find this person, and when is the right time to make this move? Also, what systems or strategies should I implement to ensure we’re growing as fast and efficiently as possible, without sacrificing quality?
Any advice on how to strategically grow this business, from hiring the right people to expanding services or improving our marketing efforts, would be greatly appreciated. I’m open to all suggestions, including creative ways to find and attract top talent who could help us reach our ambitious revenue goals.
Thanks in advance for your insights!
