hey everyone,
i run an accounting firm and come from a finance / business controlling background. over the past few years, working closely with entrepreneurs, i kept noticing the same thing.
once a company grows to around 5–25 employees, things get more complex fast. more payroll, more inventory, bigger investments, tighter cash cycles. but financially, a lot of founders are still steering mostly on instinct.
they have an accountant. sometimes some dashboards. but no structural business control.
at the same time (at least in my country), there’s a serious shortage of experienced business controllers. hiring one full-time is expensive and often unrealistic for companies in this phase.
so i started building a service company around that gap, together with my team.
we act as external business controllers for growing companies. we build their KPI structure, set up management dashboards, deliver monthly reports with variance analysis, and help translate numbers into concrete decisions.
but it’s not just reporting.
in between reporting cycles, we proactively think along on things like inventory financing, hiring decisions, margin pressure, liquidity risk, and bank conversations. software is just a tool for us. the real product is structured, recurring financial control combined with direct human involvement. Going the extra mile for our clients.
one example: a client invested in a new machine that was supposed to be more energy-efficient. on paper, costs should have gone down. We wanted to figure out the actual usage, as part of ‘going the extra mile’.
During our analysis, we found that actual energy consumption had nearly doubled because of configuration and usage patterns. Revenue growth masked it, but margin was leaking. fixing that resulted in a six-figure improvement over time.
we’re starting with 10 pilot companies to refine the model and build credibility. the pilot runs for six months at 50% of our normal pricing. we already have 7 pilots running.
normal pricing:
€5,000–€8,000 setup
€1.250–€1,750 per month, full service.
Complex modelling or additional solutions that take a lot of time, are obviously not included in the monthly fee.
i genuinely enjoy doing this. seeing clarity replace uncertainty for founders is something i could do all day.
i’m not here to pitch aggressively. i’m honestly looking for feedback from you as a community. How could we do better? In regards to our model, and the service to our clients.
if you were running a growing company, would you consider our service?
and if not: what would we need to change, improve, or prove to make it worth your while?
