I’m really good and educated at Personal Finance and am struggling to leverage it in business

Hey All,

I’m a Engineer who has been thinking about business for a while. my first business was a software website development company and that didn’t really pick up for a few reason. Over the last five years i’ve been studying personal finance and economics and gained a really good understanding. I actually have others who reach out for general questions and i just love to help them out.

Along with my skills in problem solving, being the math nerd i am and the skills from my 9-5, i know i have the skillset to start a business and want it to be in the personal finance space. I’m not looking to become a financial advisor to help people pick specific stocks or even allocate their assets.

One idea i had was becoming a ‘Money Coach’ to help others understand their finances, develop budgets, set up IRAs, etc. NO STOCK PICKING FOR THEM. Has anyone had experience here? What things worked out? What things didn’t work on? Would be looking to have it online or in person meeting with people. Doesn’t necessarily need to be storefront.

Other avenues i’ve tried are a youtube channel to help educate others but content creation is very broad and isn’t really specific to people. That route made youtube the business and not really the personal finance the business.

Looking for others who have had success or ideas in this field.
