Everyone knows the story of Adam and Eve.
God said: “Do not eat the apple.” The Devil tempted them. They ate. They were cast out of Paradise.
But what did the Devil actually say that day? From my novel, in Sebitziyu’s own words:
— Gabriel said “You shall not eat from the Apple!” And I said: “Eating from it is your right. If you eat, you shall become like angels, you shall become immortal.”
— So you deceived them.
— I tested them. I only tested them. A simple test. They did not obey their God’s command. They were tempted by the promise of becoming angels, of becoming immortal.
He didn’t lie. He offered them a choice. They chose wrong.
Is that temptation — or is that holding up a mirror?
My name is Yüksel Bölük, I’m a Turkish author. In 2017 I published “The Good Devil’s Story & The Angel Serum” — the world’s first story based on the narratives of the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Quran, told through the voice of the Devil himself.
Sebitziyu witnessed everything: Adam and Eve, Noah’s Flood, the Exodus, the crucifixion of Jesus, the revelation of the Quran. For 6,000 years humanity loaded its sins onto him. He was there for every story you know from the Holy Books. Now he tells his side.
The present-day storyline: A genetics team in Istanbul is trying to isolate the “goodness gene” using DNA from a sacred relic of the Prophet Muhammad. If the Angel Serum is completed, evil will be eliminated from human nature entirely. Every religious, political, and scientific power on Earth moves to stop them.
Why this should be an anime:
∙ A universe built on the Old Testament, New Testament, and Quran — completely untouched by anime or manga ∙ The Devil as unreliable narrator — a far deeper moral conflict than Light Yagami ∙ Hard sci-fi genetics meets 6,000 years of theological history ∙ 1.8 billion people who have never seen their mythology animated
I am currently pitching this to Japanese, French, and Korean animation studios. If this universe excites you too, I’d love to hear from you — what are your views, thoughts, and suggestions?
