​8-10’ fleshy(?) mass washed ashore in Maine… what is it?

A bunch of people were taking photos but no one knew what it was. Figured it was some sort of animal because of the smell and flies covering it but no idea what it is! Washed ashore at Two Lights State Park in Southern Maine.
