Can I turn my basic video editing skills into a side hustle?

Many years ago, I used to be highly involved with video editing. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and even back then, wondered if I could turn this interest into a side hustle or even a full-time occupation. But for various reasons, that never happened. My niche used to be making custom made movie trailers. I simply did it out of fun and creativity. And I had a pretty good little following on YouTube.

And now here I am, almost 30, working a full-time job, and wondering if I could rehash this skill and turn it into a side hustle. I have basic video editing skills, meaning I can splice segments together, add music, am fairly skilled with titles and credits, am good with fade in and fade out transitions, I’m fairly skilled with sound editing, and overall can have a pretty good attention to detail when video editing.

Now the complications are, I doubt I’m as good as some video editors who have more advanced software and techniques. I would certainly have to get better software and catch up on my skills. I’m sure a bit rusty with all the time that has gone by. But am I able to make this side hustle a reality? Any thoughts on how I could go about getting customers?
