​Found in the attic of my 1921 house: long curved piece of wood

The piece of wood is about 5ft long and one inch wide at largest the part, curved (flat on the inside and rounded on the outside), smaller diameter at the ends like a furniture joint, dark wood (maybe due to age or finish). The house was built in 1921 and I often find envelopes with stamps dating back to 1930’s. It was also remodeled in the 70s. I think I found another one last time I renovated a room but I didn’t save it. This is mostly trivial, I just can’t stop wondering what it goes to. Any ideas or knowledge is appreciated and 10 points goes to the person with the most absurd suggestion
