Basically, you’re eligible for an extra child tax credit if you allow your new child to be (safely) genetically engineered by a licensed lab.
It won’t change the appearance of the child at all. It will, however, drastically boost their immunity to disease, decrease the risk of neurodegenerative disorders, and, most likely, they won’t be physically or mentally disabled when they are born.
Technically it’s eugenics, but it has informed consent for all parties, and is objectively beneficial, health-wise, for the child.
The general reasoning behind the tax credit is that these kids will likely need less medical attention over the course of their lives; alleviating strain on the medical system… thus acting as both a financial incentive, and a medical incentive. Basically, parents who participate will be financially better off, and will have generally healthier children.
idk can someone explain to me how this is a crime against humanity or smth because I feel weird about it tbh.
