So there I stood

My heart feeling desolate and alone

While you left foot by foot

And you removed me from your phone.

There I stood

And I just watched you walk away

Feeling anything but good

About the things you had to say.

Because I had a million things to say

But you only had one

That it was a mistake

And it should have never begun.

And even though you didn’t mean that

From the start

This last time that we sat

You told me we should be apart.

You’ll never read these anymore

Not in a month or a year

I respect your feelings

But you threw me face first into my fear.

And when you look at me

I hope your eyes aren’t bleak and hollow

But I also don’t know how to handle
