Hi guys, I’m in the somewhat early stages of working on a story at the moment. I’m having a ton of fun, but it’s my first “real” book, (I’ve written a few short stories and other things for fun, but I want this to be a full story), so I’d really like to find another writer who would be interested in helping me bounce ideas, and just give me another creative mind to talk to about things. I struggle with finding people in my personal life who will take it serious and actually try to help, so Im hoping maybe someone here would be interested.
I will post the outline/pitch below (it is kind of long, I apologize, it’s a pretty complex and intertwined story so it’s hard to explain in a short manner.)
PITCH/ IDEA⬇️
Sacred Bonds is a medieval war story following two characters, Lucien and Finley, who begin on the same side of a growing conflict. They start as sort of rivals, but when they’re forced to train together they grow respect and appreciation for the other’s skills and strengths.
As the war escalates, they both chase their own versions of the truth, and as they do it begins unraveling a history that interconnects them in more ways than they know. Lucien becomes pulled into hidden records and classified histories as he chases a “ghost” from his past, while Finley is drawn to the present and becoming stronger as he attempts to save the only piece of his family he has left.
What drives the story forward is that the world itself is built on layers of deception and hidden truths. Every time a character uncovers a truth, it doesn’t bring clarity- it creates more questions, and forces them to reinterpret everything they thought they understood.
As Lucien and Finley each uncover their own versions of “what really happened” their interpretations of justice and morality begin to diverge. They don’t just become enemies through politics, they both get dragged into the cycles of violence and hate that caused their predecessors to fail to find peace.
Eventually their paths collide, both believing their own versions of the past and what’s happened, forcing them into conflict. Not just as soldiers, but as two boys shaped by different understandings of the dark, hidden history behind both kingdoms.
END OF PROMPT
Any input/thoughts are greatly appreciated and hopefully someone is interested enough in it to help me traverse my way through the writing lol.
