I dripped the same blood, it flowed like crimson rivers upon the banks of my flesh like every other soldier in war,
Yet,
I fought in different battles,
I’ve been kissed by the same beams of light and cared in the same warmth of the very same sun,
Yet,
I stood in different fields,
I was born from the embryonic fluids of a mother who burdened my weight into life itself just as every other,
Yet,
I’ve lived this life looking in from the distance of isolation, I’ve lived every minute living a life of otherness,
I’ve existed within reach of many hands,
Yet,
I live without touch,
I’ve been within earshot of endless words,
Yet,
I seldom have heard loving incantations,
I’ve been human as long as I can possibly remember,
Yet,
I remain something other.
