It came from the second “junk drawer” in my Auntie’s & Uncle’s kitchen, and they’ve had it for years – possibly since the 1970’s-1990’s – but have no clue what it’s for lol. The metal “loop” is fixed (doesn’t move or bend at all) and it has two “rivets” on each side to keep it in place. It’s light in weight and a little longer than a standard stick of butter. They likely lived in Alaska when they acquired it.
I thought it could be an avocado scraper tool, but as I understand it, avocados back then did not have the worldwide appreciation they enjoy these days, so an avo-specific tool would be an unlikely thing to own circa 1987.
Another suggestion made by a family member was “some sort of bar tool” for making cocktails. How and for what? Great questions! We don’t know.
Any ideas/suggestions are welcome! TIA!
