‘Walk”, “half”, “salmon” etc. now have a pronounced L. “Castle”, “thistle”, etc. have a pronounced t.”Knight” and “know” are pronounced with a k, and the “gh” is pronounced as f, like “cough” or “laugh.” “Doubt” has a b (or a p, same idea though). The w before words like “write” is pronounced. “O” in “opossum.” You get the idea.
We already do this with some words: “often” used to be officially pronounced without the t but many people pronounce the t. Why not do this with every word? This will make English a lot easier and intuitive to learn. I know it’s a crazy idea though.
