What does everyone think of the company Run Roadside? I guess they are like the Uber of roadside assistance and I thought it was a good opportunity. I already did the whole Uber / Doordash thing and it left a bad taste in my mouth for 1099 work but I also do mobile mechanic work so I figured it might be right up my alley.
I was a little spectacle at first but I went ahead and joined their program. I had just quit my old job and was driving an old honda civic that had overheating issues so I thought well i better drive this puppy into the ground before the heads crack.
After joining It took me a few days to get fully set up but once everything was in place I received my first job which was just a simple fuel delivery. I accepted it even though it was a little far and of course, my car overheated on the way and I had to pull over. after I got her cooled back down I delivered the fuel and everything went smooth. I went onto the online portal to make sure the job was submitted and they had already approved it as complete. Two days later the money was in my account.
I don’t know if I got lucky with my area or what but after I did good with my first job I started getting a crap ton of calls and they were all close by. I was able to do most of them even in a crappy little honda and I have to say it seriously changed my life. Not only was I getting the contracted fuel deliveries, jump starts, lockouts, and tire changes but they were also giving me auto lockouts for people who were not covered under their roadside assistance plan. I was able to charge whatever i wanted for those type of calls and the extra cash in my pocket was nice.
Fast forward I got a new service vehicle that was great on gas. By the way i think that its amazing that you can do roadside assistance out of a car. That alone i think is the trick to really making money in this field. After getting my new ride it freed me up financially and i actually had alot of time on my hands even tho i was on call 24/7. I started getting my customers to give me reviews and that got my ranking high on google and my business really started to thrive.
I built my business from the ground up but without taking a leap of faith with Run Roadside I really don’t think it would have been possible. It was a major stepping stone in my career path and I’m glad i chose to do business with them. I had no idea how to get started and they made everything turn-key and automated and simple. It was definitely a 5 star experience on my end and I would recommend them to anyone who is thinking of going out on your own or starting a roadside assistance/locksmith business. If I can make it happen with an old busted up lemon honda then I think anyone can. I know people are struggling right now so just wanted to give an honest review and hopefully, this can be a game changer for people stepping out on their own.
