Starting a business with 401k

Advice for cashing out 401k

Let me start by saying I have no plans on not investing into my future. Without going too much into my personal life, here’s where I’m at.

I’m 27, I manage warranty claims adjusters making 26/hr. I have held this job for over 4 years. I work from home so my expenses are minimal in that regard. I am a former auto mechanic.

I have NO intentions on waiting until my 60s/70s to retire. I understand that might sound naive, but the situation I was born into limits what I’ll be able to do later in life. I’ll be inheriting a special needs family member who if I am not already financially fit, will be my undoing.

What I want to do, is withdrawal my 401k ($20,000) and use that capital to start attending automotive police auctions. Buying low at auction then selling high on fb marketplace. Keep flipping that capital until I end up with a sizable figure to start a used car dealership with.

What would be the easiest way to go about this? Roll the 401k into an IRA and then take it out? Any tips/tricks to making this an easier process? Any advice from someone who’s done something similar? I’m comfortable in my job, but I’ll never truly be satisfied until I’m just collecting a check with minimal effort so I can spend that extra time with my family. Also trying to think ahead, not get stagnant with this career.

Thanks for reading, appreciate any and all advice. (PIC OF MY E36 FOR ATTENTION)
