Whether it was foolishness, arrogance, or blind determination didn’t matter. The boy with the quiet feet far more resembling that of a stray cat snuck into the damp and quiet house. As he took a moment’s notice to simply admire his surroundings it became increasingly difficult for him not to deeply take in the soft moonlight coming through the large glass window above. As the boy turned towards the darkness of the large room he snapped out of his sudden trance to a sight that shook him deeply to his core, as if being struck through the chest with a large spear of ice. In front of the boy standing about eight feet away was a girl. She was about five feet and seven inches in height, but that wasn’t her most surprising feature. Her skin was as pale as a corpse followed by completely black and sunken in eyes, long black hair, black lips, and a pretty black dress. The air that she gave off was cold and ethereal, far resembling that of a cold winter morning. The shock went a way in but a second for the boy, as he examined her features and came to his everyday senses. He was not afraid of the girl as others would’ve been. In fact, he found her to be quite beautiful. As their moment of silence lingered on the boy broke the tense atmosphere and spoke in an awkward and kind voice as if meeting an online friend for the first time. Hey… what are you doing here? The girl not moving and still standing there as still as a statue spoke up in a voice as soft as fresh silk. This is where I live. The boy recoiled, taken aback by the way she spoke yet feeling very empathetic for her. I’m sorry for intruding. I can leave. As stiff as a rusty cog the girl finally move towards the boy, settling right in front of him and smiling genuinely. I don’t mind. I rather like having company. Her expression then changes to one of forlorn. Most people that come here run away when they see me. Do you think I’m scary? The boy feeling her chilling air like the sting of being submerged in a frozen pond and seeing the sight of her sad and lonely face simply shook his head. No, you’re not scary. The boy took a second to swallow his saliva and blushed uncontrollably. You’re actually rather beautiful. The girl’s face lit up like a beacon in the night and she danced around him, lightly brushing her hair against his face as she giggled and pranced towards the sofa next to the moonlit window. She sat down very quickly and patted her left thigh three times, signaling for the boy to approach, all while smiling happily. The boy watched in amazement, shocked by the sudden change in her demeanor. He took her hint and walked towards her slowly. However after reaching the sofa the boy did not sit down. He laid on the sofa resting his head on her cold thigh and relaxing very intently. Her thigh and presence were as cold as ice but this did not bother him. They simply looked in each other’s eyes and talked for hours, not once breaking the conversation. They talked about the world, things they liked, and simple aspects about each other. As dawn approached like and overbearing parent interrupting a fun party the boy felt tired and announced that he had to leave. Slowly and lethargically as if not wanting to do a demeaning task the boy stood up and smiled at the girl. After looking at him for none but a second the girl got up herself and turned to face him once again looking sad. Will you come back? She said very sadly. The boys face turned slightly sad as he replied very empathetically that he would. The girl then smiled and slowly leaned in giving him a cold but gentile kiss and she then replied. Please don’t make me wait too long. The boy nodded happily as he slowly made his way towards the broken window. He then turned back to her with a big smile and waved goodbye then turned his attention back towards carefully making it out of the window unscathed by the glass of which is as sharp as a razor. He then doggedly disappeared into the tree line that covered the land like a massive green blanket now a-flame with the morning light.
