The little masochist

Funny little masochist

You’re quite the deal ain’t you

Acting as everyone’s psychiatrist

Crying alone in your bedroom.

Laugh little birdy laugh,

Shake your head when you look in the mirror

Maybe then you’ll finally understand who you are

And start searching for it clearer.

How does it feel now?

Four walls, sad thoughts

Empty promises and no afterthoughts

You’re alone now little masochist aren’t you?

But haven’t you always been?

Did you lull yourself to a sense of false reality

And get pent up from the false hopes?

Now that you dropped down to reality

You’re tightening your ropes.

Hurting yourself isn’t new,

You’ve been doing it for years,

Whether it’s the people or the things

You harm yourself with all of the strings.

So you cut them, expecting to be free

Only to understand you never will be

To be free is to be happy

And to be happy is to be at peace

Instead you’re just sappy

You never learned to just enjoy the feast.

Oh dear little masochist,

You understand don’t you now?

For you were used and abused

And you let it happen because you only frowned.
