We should “start over” the way we say the year and drop the “TWENTY” when we say it out loud like “TWENTY SEVEN” instead of “TWENTY TWENTY SEVEN”.

It would have been awkward to start with it as “THE YEAR ONE” in 2001 but at this point, I think we should refer to the current year as TWENTY SIX instead of saying “TWENTY TWENTY SIX” and “TWENTY TWENTY SEVEN”. It is too many twenty’s when we already know what they are saying. If you’re writing it, of course you would still write it out 2027 but like we know that if we’re for example talking about current fashion trends and you’re trying to differentiate between TWENTY TWENTY FOUR and TWENTY TWENTY FIVE, people would still know what you’re saying in context if you said something about trends in TWENTY FOUR or TWENTY FIVE. It’s less obnoxious and people rush through it so quickly like twentytwentytwoandtwentytwentythree like their tone drops down and they say it super fast and I’m so tired of hearing it sounding bad I mean we simplify so many other things we say often, but we’re still jumbling these numbers over and over.
