Hey everyone! I’m working on an app idea aimed at helping women (ages 18-60) build meaningful, lasting friendships in a world where it can feel hard to connect. The app takes inspiration from speed dating but focuses on friendship. Here’s the basic idea:
• Matchmaking: Users are matched based on shared values, interests, and personality traits through a science-backed algorithm. • Speed Friendship: The app will introduce users anonymously through structured online interactions, focusing on meaningful conversations before revealing profiles. • Group Dynamics: New users can only join an existing friend group after being approved by every member, helping to create tight-knit circles. • Focus on Loneliness: Research shows our social circles shrink by 50% in our 30s, and loneliness is a rising issue—especially for women. This app aims to combat that. • Long-Term Connection: We aim to avoid superficial, one-off interactions by fostering group chats and in-person meetups after users have bonded online.
It’s still in the idea phase, and I’m eager for any feedback or suggestions! What do you think would make this concept work well? What challenges do you foresee?
